Running Activate
Strategy check and setup
How a brief is checked against the Strategy baseline, off-anchor and unscored decisions, starting setup and the decision timeline.
Strategy check and setup
Before a brief's workspace opens, Activate checks it against the Strategy baseline and records a decision. The check gives advice only. It never blocks a brief.
The four strategy areas
| Area | Fits when |
|---|---|
| Channel | The brief's channel is in the baseline's channel mix |
| Market fit | The industry and priority segment match the baseline |
| Roadmap workstream | The workstream is one of the baseline's workstreams |
| Journey stage | The stage maps to a conversion stage in the baseline |
The check runs automatically when the client saves a brief. They can run it again while the brief is a draft. Results read "Check complete. This Brief matches all four strategy areas. No changes are suggested." or offer a Suggested fix or Optional angle.
Starting setup
The client presses Start {Webinar|Event|Social|Story} setup. This records the strategy decision and opens the workspace. Later edits to the brief do not flow into the setup.
| Situation | Recorded as |
|---|---|
| All four areas fit | On-anchor |
| One or more areas have feedback | Off-anchor, with a short reason (or a default noting suggestions were available) |
| No usable Strategy baseline | Unscored |
If the brief changed after its last check, setup is held: "Check the updated Brief before starting setup."
Decision history (staff view)
In the mirror the brief detail shows Strategy check and decision history, the full timeline, newest first:
- Routing decided
- Downstream handoff acknowledged
- Downstream handoff failed
- Downstream handoff retry requested
- Earlier strategy check
Each entry shows the strategy context, state, date and, for staff, the actor and run IDs. Use Load older decisions for more.
When the handoff fails
If the latest entry is a failed handoff, the mirror shows Retry handoff. This is the one brief action staff take from the mirror. A toast confirms "{BR-n} handoff queued for retry."
