Running Activate

Snapshots and metrics

How daily and month-end snapshots work, why closed months stay fixed, and what gap closed is measured from.

Snapshots and metrics

Activate does not recalculate history every time you look at it. It records snapshots and serves figures from them. Knowing which snapshot a number comes from explains most "why hasn't this changed?" questions.

The three kinds of snapshot

SnapshotWhen it is takenUsed for
DailyEvery day at 02:00 UTC, after the 01:00 UTC PartnerStack full reconcileMomentum and day-to-day figures
Revenue saveEach time the client saves revenue inputsAn immediate refresh of Momentum
Month-endWhen all four revenue figures for a completed month are savedThe source of that month's Monthly Review

A daily snapshot is fixed once taken. A correction in the source data shows up in the next day's snapshot, never in an earlier one.

Completed months

  • A completed month is read from its month-end snapshot. If no month-end snapshot exists, it falls back to the last daily snapshot of that month.
  • Saving that month's inputs again records a new month-end snapshot. If the facts changed, it creates a new Review revision.
  • Late PartnerStack data does not refresh a closed month by itself. Data that arrives after the month-end snapshot appears in later daily snapshots, and the closed month changes only when the client saves that month's inputs again.
If a client says last month's numbers are out of date, ask them to re-save that month's revenue inputs once the late data has synced. That records a fresh month-end snapshot.

What the metrics mean

  • Gap closed: finance-reported Partnerships revenue since the baseline, measured against the gap in the Strategy baseline.
  • Partner sourced %: recognised partner revenue as a share of company revenue.
  • Projected close · run rate: the trailing three-month growth in Partnerships actuals, extended to review 6.
  • Projected pipeline: PartnerStack leads and trials, valued with the baseline's conversion assumptions and deal value.

When a figure cannot be computed, it says so ("Not computed", "Needs three months of history", "Mixed currencies are never summed"). It never shows a made-up zero.

Self-healing

If a daily or month-end run is missed, a recovery sweep re-runs it, looking back about two months. Runs that keep failing show in Monitoring. See Monitoring agent runs.
