Slack agent
What staff can and cannot do
Which Slack and agent actions belong to HSAI staff, which belong to the customer, and why.
What staff can and cannot do
The Slack agent is the customer's tool, used with their own accounts. HSAI sets the commercial frame around it and steps in only when asked.
Staff can
| Action | Where | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Record or edit the seat agreement and initial customer administrator | HSAI Agent → step 1 | Admin role |
| Assign or revoke licences on the customer's behalf | HSAI Agent → step 1 | Admin role, only when asked |
| Set selling margin and agent terms | HSAI Agent → step 2 | Admin role |
| Set the funding ceiling, approve and apply credit | HSAI Agent → step 3 | Admin role |
| Allocate credit and set limits on the customer's behalf | HSAI Agent → step 4 | Admin role, only when asked |
| Configure paid billing and prepare usage reports | HSAI Agent → step 5 | Admin role |
| Review pricing exceptions that block accounts | Admin API | Admin role |
| Read configuration with the runtime preflight | API container | Engineering |
Changes staff make on the customer's behalf are recorded as made by HSAI staff.
Staff cannot
- Connect (bind) a customer's Slack workspace. Only a current customer administrator, signed in to the portal, can confirm a workspace. This is deliberate: the customer approves which workspace sees their data.
- Use the customer's agent in Slack. Licences can only be held by the customer's own users, so staff accounts are never admitted.
- Turn Slack on for the customer. That switch is the customer administrator's.
- Add further customer administrators once one exists. Customers delegate that themselves.
- See the customer's Slack & agent access section in staff mirror views. It is excluded.
- Change a customer's partner figures through Slack. PartnerStack figures are read-only everywhere in the agent.
What the customer cannot do
- Change the seat limit, pricing, funding ceiling or approvals.
- Raise their own credit beyond what HSAI applied.
- Take the programme live or publish the Riley pack from Slack. Those requests get "Programme go-live and Riley publishing are HockeyStick staff actions. They are not available to client users in Slack."
If a customer asks you to "just connect Slack for us", walk their administrator through Connect Slack workspace on a call instead. It takes a few minutes and keeps the approval theirs.
