Slack agent
Uninstall, reinstall and disconnect
Exactly what each lifecycle change invalidates, so you can tell a customer what they will need to redo.
Uninstall, reinstall and disconnect
Lifecycle changes are fenced conservatively. When in doubt the agent drops access and asks people to reconnect, rather than carry access across a change.
What each change does
| Change | Workspace binding | Personal links | Licences and credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Person selects Unlink account in App Home | Unchanged | That person only | Unchanged |
| Administrator revokes a licence | Unchanged | Kept, but the person is refused | Licence removed |
| Administrator turns Slack off | Unchanged | Kept, but everyone is refused | Unchanged |
| Administrator Disconnects the workspace | Removed | All revoked in that workspace | Unchanged |
| Administrator confirms (or re-confirms) a workspace | Set to this organisation | All revoked in that workspace | Unchanged |
| App uninstalled from the workspace | Marked revoked, shows Reconnect required | All revoked | Unchanged |
| App reinstalled | Active binding cleared; needs a fresh review | People must relink | Unchanged |
| Slack token rotation | Preserved | Preserved | Unchanged |
| Enterprise org uninstall or shared bot token revoked | Every affected workspace revoked | All revoked | Unchanged |
| One workspace removed from an Enterprise org install | That workspace only | That workspace only | Unchanged |
Usage and completed actions always stay recorded. Paid usage is kept even if a turn was cancelled or access was revoked mid-turn.
After a reinstall
- The customer administrator opens Slack & agent access and selects Connect Slack workspace to verify the workspace again.
- They confirm the reviewed workspace.
- Each person relinks the next time they message the agent.
Moving a workspace to another organisation
A workspace bound, or last claimed, by one organisation cannot be bound by another. The first organisation's administrator must Disconnect it first. Staff cannot override this.
Personal link lifetime
New links last 365 days from the person's explicit accept or reconnect. Using the agent does not extend it. The sign-in provider can end it earlier, for example after long inactivity or a revoked session, and the person is told to reconnect. Older links keep the deadline they were created with until the person reconnects.
